On August 4th 2020 a large amount of ammonium nitrate stored at a port in Beirut, Lebanon exploded killing 204 people, injuring over 6,500 people and leaving thousands more unable to access food in an already poverty stricken region. Days later, TMK Initiative was on the ground partnering with local organizations and food pantries feeding over 15,000 people displaced by the explosions.
